Yoga Classes, Yoga Therapy, Pain Care, and Lifestyle Medicine to support your health and wellness journey.
We are taking a short seasonal break and will once again offer yoga therapy sessions and public classes beginning in the Summer of 2023. In the meantime, we are offering limited virtual Ayurvedic/Lifestyle Medicine Counseling sessions.
Please scroll down to book. Packages and gift certificates are available below.
Public Classes
Public yoga classes center on strength and stability, somatics, mindful movements, and breath awareness. Locations vary around the Pikes Peak region.
Yoga as Therapy
Yoga Therapy addresses concerns such as chronic pain, injury, functional movement, depression and anxiety, grief and loss, addiction and recovery, and navigating diagnoses or medical treatment including cancer.
Unlike a standard yoga class, sessions are conducted one-on-one. Sessions resemble physical therapy, rehabilitative therapy, and/or psychotherapy. Yoga therapy integrates well with other forms of treatment or can be provided directly to treat a specific health concern. Yoga Therapy is highly regarded for primary concerns and integrative health care and is backed by scientific peer-reviewed evidence. Sessions last one hour or more.
We look forward to supporting your health journey.
About & Contact
Renee has practiced yoga since 2001 and began formal training in Colorado Springs in 2015, teaching in 2016. After a significant and unexpected loss, Renee's world turned upside down. She turned to the most stable thing in her life: her yoga practice. Yoga helped Renee process the loss of her father to leukemia through its holistic approach to healing at our physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual levels. This experience inspires Renee's pursuit of the therapeutic benefits of yoga and ayurevda that support our return to health and happiness. Renee uprooted her life, leaving her day job to establish Sun Mountain Yoga with a mission to teach and empower others to utilize the teachings and practices of yoga and ayurveda to ignite their healing potential from within.
Renee is in her final year of a Professional 800-hour Yoga Therapy Certification and recently began Eastern Medicine studies with Dr. Bharat Vaidya of Ayurved Sadhana. She is the part-time Business Development Manager for Inner Peace Yoga Therapy and Development Coordinator for the Headstrong Project. Renee is a registered yoga teacher, certified Wilderness First Responder, certified Reiki I/II practitioner, and SUP Yoga certified.
Renee lives on a small homestead near Guffey, CO. In her free time, Renee loves to hike, make jewelry (
